Disease presentation
The disease is characterized by the chronic inflammation of blood vessels. The International Criteria for Behçet's Disease (ICBD) have been established to facilitate the diagnosis.Main clinical symptoms
Fever
Mouth and genital ulcers
Skin rash
Uveitis (red eye)
Vessel inflammation
NB: Other possible involvement: joint, neurologic, digestive, vasculatory
Biological signs
Increase in C-reactive protein (CRP)
Presence of HLA-B51
Therapy
- Colchicine
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Corticosteroids
- Immunomodulating drugs
